During the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has revealed the first 3 GBA games coming to the Wii U Virtual Console and these are very great titles.
Starting in April; Metroid Fusion, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga and Yoshi’s Island will be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console and more will be released “over time.”
Playing Metroid Fusion on my buddie’s Wii U will be wonderful as I loved Fusion on my GBA SP. Hopefully Zero Mission will be available down the line too 🙂
NES Remix, released In December 2013, was a nice surprise and a great game for Wii U, or rather watch if you didn’t have a Wii U. With the success of NES Remix, comes the annoucement of NES Remix 2 during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct.
Remix 2 will release April 25th and cost $14.99 and contain the following games (12 of them). (Remix 2 also allows us to play through Super Mario Bros. as Luigi since Super Luigi Bros. is included and giving us his super high jump ability)
- Ice Hockey
- Wario’s Woods
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
- Super Mario Bros. 2
- Super Mario Bros. 2 The Lost Levels
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Dr. Mario
- Kirby’s Adventure
- Kid Icarus
- NES Open Tournament Golf
Wonder what remixes and new challenges will await us with this round of REMIX!
How I love Nintendo Direct as it is always full of surprises. During the Nintendo of America portion of the video stream, Erik Peterson talked about various eShop titles and also revealed some big Indie game titles coming the next few months. The games were shown in a graphic and here are the titles
- Scram Kitty
- 1001 Spikes
- Ittle Dew
- Assault Android Cactus
- Squids Odyssey
- Shovel Knight
- Monkey Pirates
- QUBE Director’s Cut
- Ballpoint Universe Infinite
- Wooden Sen Sey
During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, we were finally given a release date for Mario Kart 8, and that is May 30th for Wii U in North America, Europe and Austrailia.
Nintendo also said we can play as the Koopalings this time around, wow this list of drivers is great! I am very excited this has an official release date finally!
Warner Bros. Montreal has announced that due to the team working on the upcoming story DLC for Arkham Origins, it will not be releasing any more patches to address game-progression bugs or save file crashes for the 360 at least for now.
On the community forums, it does mention the possibility of addressing the game-progession issues in the future.
“If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.”
Not a very good sign, especially for us 360’ers who still have that damning save file crashing problem. The story DLC better be discounted 😛
Ubisoft has announced that the Wii U version of Watch_Dogs has been delayed later than the spring window of the PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions. No hint as to when it will come out, but hopefully it isn’t too long of a wait.
Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles are getting face lifts and body work done (as you can tell by the article picture.) Nintendo’s final exclusive Sonic title is called Sonic Boom, and already people are voicing strong opposition to it. Being released in 2014:
- Sonic has undergone some changes and now dons a brown scarf and longer legs
- Amy looks unchanged for the most part
- Tails seems to be an engineer/braniac
- Knuckles has grown some few feet taller and hit the gym; skipping leg day it seems
Sonic Boom is being developed by two different studios. A new studio by the name of Big Red Button Entertainment is handling the Wii U version while the masterminds of Sly Cooper Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time developer Sanzaru Games is handling the 3DS version. The 3DS version is said to be more like Sonic Adventure with the main hub and branching missions will make a return.
I think this looks very fresh. While the Wii U verison seems to be a spotlight of 4-player CO-OP, I wonder how the 3DS version will play on that, if at all. This game also seems to be a fun, kick-back Sonic title to have some friends over with. I’m excited!
