I want to thank everyone on here who is following our blog that me and Richard do. He does the layouts and website stuff and I am the one doing the articles and it is really fun for the both of us to do this!

We are proud to announce that we are launching a brand new site, not just a blog but a paid-for website where Richard can shine with his web design abilites and I can keep doing my thing with Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox game news. The new website will be called npxnation.com and it should go live this weekend.

In the meantime, I will continue to do this site until I post another update about the upcoming weekend. When we do, I would like to ask all of you who do follow to continue to give us some love on the new site and I will be sure to link it when it becomes live. Love you all, thanks a million and I can’t wait for this new site!

Slim PS Vita Coming To The US This Spring; Being Bundled With Borderlands 2 Vita and 8GB Memory Card

ps vita slim bl2 bundle

The Slim PS Vita has officially announced to be coming to America this Spring. The Slim PS Vita is 20% slimmer, 15% lighter, trades the beautiful OLED screen for a 5″ HD LED screen, is WI-FI only, and has 1GB built-in memory.

If you think this is nice (or still need incentive) then here you go, it is being bundled together with the highly-anticipated Vita version of Borderlands 2, 6 DLC packs for BL2 and an 8GB memory card for the current price of $199.99. The 6 DLC packs included are: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack.

While the PS Vita Slim has launched with several colors in Japan, there is only the black model coming over (hopefully more later on!) Also, finally, the Vita version of Borderlands 2 has a release time so we can download it separate if we already have a Vita and aren’t looking to upgrade to the Slim. No price on the Borderlands 2 price.

Killer Instinct’s February Pin Ultimate Challenge

Are you an owner of the Pin Ultimate Edition of Killer Instinct? Do you want another collector pin (of course, why else would you buy the Pin Ultimate Edition, right?) Then here is February’s Pin Ultimate Challenge: SUPREME VICTORY PIN!

Outlined on the PLAYXBLA Blog, Microsoft is asking Killer Instinct players to record their awesome “supreme victories” and send them in to get the SUPREME VICTORY pin to add to your Pin Ultimate collection. Here is how you do it:

  1. Record yourself getting a SUPREME VICTORY in an official Ranked match, recording from the time that the characters are introduced, all the way to the end when your SUPREME VICTORY is announced
  2. Edit your video via Upload Studio to make it as awesome as you can
  3. Upload the video to your Skydrive to get a sharable link
  4. Upload the Skydrive sharable link to kinst@microsoft.com
  5. Type out a one-paragraph explanation of how your SUPREME VICTORY is better than anyone else’s using either the email you used for registering the Pin Ultimate Edition or your Microsoft Account email.

Microsoft is also rewarding the 5 coolest SUPREME VICTORIES with an additional pin, the Glacius Pin (which is normally available for purchase.) The challenge ends February 26th so all submissions must be sent in before that date and you MUST REGISTER FOR THE CHALLENGE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE END OF THE CHALLENGE, so it is best to register now.

Sonic Boom Coming In 2014

Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles are getting face lifts and body work done (as you can tell by the article picture.) Nintendo’s final exclusive Sonic title is called Sonic Boom, and already people are voicing strong opposition to it. Being released in 2014:

  • Sonic has undergone some changes and now dons a brown scarf and longer legs
  • Amy looks unchanged for the most part
  • Tails seems to be an engineer/braniac
  • Knuckles has grown some few feet taller and hit the gym; skipping leg day it seems

Sonic Boom is being developed by two different studios. A new studio by the name of Big Red Button Entertainment is handling the Wii U version while the masterminds of Sly Cooper Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time developer Sanzaru Games is handling the 3DS version. The 3DS version is said to be more like Sonic Adventure with the main hub and branching missions will make a return.

I think this looks very fresh. While the Wii U verison seems to be a spotlight of 4-player CO-OP, I wonder how the 3DS version will play on that, if at all. This game also seems to be a fun, kick-back Sonic title to have some friends over with. I’m excited!

Nintendo To License Game Characters To Partners

Remember back in December we saw an early preview for the upcoming awesome looking Hyrule Warriors? Well, it is safe to say that we might see more collaborations like that.

During a strategy meeting that Nintendo held yesterday, it revealed that they were planning to “license more rights to its characters.” If Hyrule Warriors is a sign to come of such practice, then Nintendo might be taking one step in the right direction into turning its unfortunate misfortunes around. GTA Mario? Lol
